Un rap per combattere la nuova influenza
La pandemia dovuta al virus influenzale H1N1 è alle porte, come testimoniano alcuni recenti fatti di cronaca, ma la campagna di informazione del Ministero della Salute non è ancora partita. Altri paesi sono corsi al riparo da tempo e già da diversi mesi hanno fatto ricorso ai classici strumenti pubblicitari per lanciare in grande stile un piano di prevenzione. Con rare eccezioni quasi sempre si tratta di comunicazioni «funzionali» (come starnutire sul gomito, lavarsi spesso le mani, restare a casa per almeno 48 ore dopo che la febbre è passata). I Cdc di Atlanta, ad esempio, avevano da molti mesi messo sul loro sito delle cartoline elettroniche che veicolavano questi messaggi, chiedendo a tutti di farle girare con la mail, oltre a banners per i siti web e leaflet di vario genere in pdf. Ma questo approccio serioso, anche se diffondeva utili regole di prevenzione, evidentemente non bastava. In effetti questo tipo di messaggio è circolato in maniera piuttosto fiacca. Al Dipartimento della salute statunitense devono aver pensato che bisognare fare di più e infatti il 9 luglio hanno publicato un bando di concorso per uno spot fra i 15 e i 60 secondi per una campagna pubblicitaria sui network televisivi. A presentare l'iniziativa è un breve filmato del segretario Kathleen Sebelius - postato su YouTube - la quale ricorda che è compito di ogni cittadino diffondere informazioni utili sulla prevenzione della nuova influenza fra amici e parenti. Il messaggio televisivo della Sebelius ha però due raccomandazioni non banali: la prima è che gli spot debbono essere su YouTube e la seconda è che non debbono essere noiosi. Ne arrivano 200 e fra questi ci sono molti specialisti della comunicazione sanitaria, ad esempio Groovy Pyramid (Get Ready, girato davanti alla Irvine Medical Center e in stile Motown), che da molti anni fa campagne nelle scuole sulla corretta alimentazione con un format musicale. Oppure agenzie pubblicitarie come RingSide Creative (che ha realizzato uno spot molto divertente). Altri un po' splatter (come Listen to Your Mother), oppure hardcore punk (come la clip di Henry Rollins), ma il grosso dei video inviati sono fatti in casa con i bambini oppure con animazioni al computer. A spuntarla su tutti è stato il rap di Dr. John Clarke (il «dottore hip hop»), una vecchia conoscenza fra i rappisti e coloro che si occupano di politiche sanitarie perché è sulla breccia da molti anni. Nella vita di tutti i giorni è il responsabile sanitario della metropolitana «leggera» Long Island Rail Road, ma tutto il tempo che gli resta lo dedica a rap di educazione sanitaria (ha girato in lungo e in largo gli Stati Uniti per presentarli).
